about

A lyrical re-interpretation of Brahms D Major concerto adagio segment.

Even though I had a cold when I sang it in demo format, I wound up liking the vocal performance with all of its flaws: For there was a certain freedom in expression that having a cold and knowing I would "not use it anyway" released into the emotion of that run through.

lyrics

These brief loves are all the same
They alter not they re-arrange
And from them we find a brief cajoling
Reward for the hole in our self

Shame, for shame on me
Blame, and the game we know
And now we will reap
Joy, and then sleep

So I woke then
And then I was wondering that
You really love me and
All I could think about then was
How I know for sure
Giving to me patience
And it’s getting late now
For doubting heaven

Then your heart gave to me strength so
When storms as they came meant nothing

Blow, blow on down like rain
Blow, blow across this desert plain
Waste it all on me and
Let the tempest come

For I’m in love with you
I know we’re through
But I cannot stop myself
From falling in love with you
